Central/Remote Console
e Trust
Intrusion Detection Central enables network administrators to monitor and
control one or more stations running eTrust Intrusion Detection. This
is achieved by installing eTrust Intrusion Detection Agents or
Engines on different segments of the network (local and remote), which are
controlled by a central station from which the administrator can view and
generate reports based on the consolidated information collected by the
Agents or Engines.
The eTrust Intrusion Detection
Central software functions as the basis for several services:
 |
It allows a single
user to monitor and manage multiple local and remote eTrust
Intrusion Detection stations. Using this capability, the
administrator sees alerts on the console and has the ability to
remotely control specific eTrust Intrusion Detection stations as if
they were local.
|
 |
Allows management of
a remote eTrust Intrusion Detection station.
|
 |
Allows a remote
authorized user to review the specific information they are
authorized to see.
|
|
The eTrust Intrusion Detection
Central includes the following components:
 |
The
Central Solution Clients:
The eTrust Intrusion
Detection Central component that operates on Windows 98/Me, or
Windows NT/2000. The Central component receives, sorts, and displays
alerts generated by one or more remote eTrust Intrusion Detection
agents, and allows the administrator to connect with and operate the
eTrust Intrusion Detection Engine.
|
|
 | The
Central Solution Agent:
eTrust Intrusion Detection
Central Agents are components that operate on stations running
eTrust Intrusion Detection Standalone. The eTrust Intrusion
Detection Central Agent includes an agent application that operates
in the background, receives alerts from eTrust Intrusion Detection,
sends these alerts to eTrust Intrusion Detection Central after the
authentication handshake. |
