eTrust Anti-Virus Utilizes ALERT

ALERT is a notification system that sends status, warning and error messages from eTrust Anti-Virus and other eTrust products to designated individuals in an organization utilizing a variety of communication methods. These messages can be sent to the system administrator, a hardware technician or anyone else, in or out of the office.

ALERT does not generate its own messages. ALERT routes any message it receives from different sources, including Anti-Virus, and distributes these e alerts to specific destinations. For example, eTrust Anti-Virus generates a warning message whenever a virus is detected. This warning message is passed to ALERT, which in turn sends a notification to the designated recipients of warning messages.

Supported Methods

	Broadcasts ALERT broadcasts can be sent to specific computers
	Pager Numeric and alphanumeric
	Electronic Mail Microsoft Mail, Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes
	Trouble Tickets An alert can be printed though any print queue on the network
	SNMP Managers Such as NetWare Management System and HP Openview
	Local and Remote NT Event Log Notification Put an event for a selected Server in that machine's Event Log
